Stub Drills have a strong supporting web and a lowered chisel edge to aid penetration. These drills are typically used for sheet metal drilling and spot centering operations. The bits are primarily used for drilling a variety of hole diameters and for creating a hole or enlarging a drilled hole with a larger blunt tip. Stub Drills are also utilized on automatic and capstan lathe machines. The overall length of a stub drills are reduced, resulting in increased stiffness and extended tool life.
